Adobe Commerce Cloud — Adobe's managed edition
Adobe Commerce Cloud (formerly Magento Commerce Cloud) is the hosted edition of Adobe Commerce, operated by Adobe on AWS + Fastly CDN — infrastructure, deployment pipeline, auto-scaling, PCI-DSS security and 24/7 Adobe support included. WolfSellers is a Gold Partner: we implement, operate and optimize projects on Adobe Commerce Cloud with a focus on LATAM performance and low ICE (Infrastructure Compute Entitlement) consumption.
Definition
What is Adobe Commerce Cloud?
Adobe Commerce Cloud (or Magento Commerce Cloud, its legacy name) is Adobe's official managed-hosting offering for Adobe Commerce. Unlike self-hosted (where you run servers on AWS, Azure or bare metal), in Commerce Cloud Adobe runs the infrastructure for you: EC2, RDS, Redis, Elasticsearch, Fastly CDN, WAF — all preconfigured and tuned for Adobe Commerce.
It ships 3 environments (production, staging, integration) with a git-based deployment pipeline, traffic-peak auto-scaling, automated backups, inherited PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance, and access to Adobe's 24/7 support.
Decision
Adobe Commerce Cloud vs self-hosted on AWS
The call depends on three factors: in-house DevOps, infra customization needs, and budget. The real rule of thumb:
- Pick Commerce Cloud if: you don't want in-house DevOps, value Adobe having skin in the game on uptime/perf, need inherited PCI-DSS without running infra audits, your core team is product/business — not infra.
- Pick self-hosted (AWS/Azure) if: you have senior DevOps, need infra customizations Commerce Cloud doesn't allow (complex networking, on-prem integrations), aim for lower TCO at 3+ years of operation, have compliance that requires full control.
- Hybrid: some clients run Commerce Cloud in production and clone dev/staging in their own AWS to reduce dev-phase costs.
Pricing
How much does Adobe Commerce Cloud cost?
Sales-led pricing. Base price is structured on expected AOV/GMV + Infrastructure Compute Entitlement (ICE — a compute capacity unit). Typical LATAM ranges:
Starter plan (<$1M USD GMV/year): ~$22k-40k USD/year license. Pro plan (mid-market GMV): $50k-125k USD/year. Enterprise (>$50M GMV): $150k+ USD/year. Tiers increase with additional channels, multi-store and B2B features.
Initial implementation on Commerce Cloud has the same cost range as self-hosted: $500k-3M MXN depending on scope. The difference is you save on infra setup + operations (roughly $20k-60k USD/year in DevOps).
